Latvia population according to 2013 has been recorded 2.013 million. Latvian territory covers 307.17 km2 and lies between 1 and 10 meters above sea level. Riga is the capital and the largest city in Latvia. Home to one third to Latvian population It is located on the Baltic Sea between Estonia and Lithuania. Latvia is well known for its strong identity, diverse culture, modern cities, landscapes ranging from wide beaches to dense and sprawling forests.

Ventas Rumba is the widest waterfall in Europe. It falls on Venta river town Kuldiga and is 249 meters wide. It is located about 150 km from Riga

In Riga, population of approximately 641,007 people in recorded 2015. Riga is the largest city in Baltic state. 67.1% of Latvia's population and ethnic Latvian, 21.9% are Russians, 3.3% are Belarusian, 2.2% are Ukrainians, 2.2% are polish 1.2% are Lithuanian and 2.1% are other ethnicities.

The main characteristics of Riga's climate is the humid continental. January and February are the coldest, average temperature reaches from -5°C to - 25°C. The proximity of the sea causes frequent rain and fog. As for summer, it is warm and humid, with average temperature of 18°C. While the hottest day can exceed to 30°C.

Culture:
Latvian song and dance festival is included in the UNESCO list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity. It is conducted every five years since 1873 and brings together more than 30,000 participants, singers, dancers, musicians, folklore groups and others.

Today, as noble prize winning economist Paul Krugman has put it, Latvia has become a symbol in the fiscal policy wars, with austerity advocates elevating it to iconic status.

International craft beer and folk festival metenis

Metenis is a festival in which people gather around about a dozen beer brewers from all over the country, as well as from other countries. It is a fine chance to taste both traditional beers and modern interpretations along with boisterous fun, mummery, warm bonefine and power food. This event is held in summer known as season's closing festival. It is cause for elation, offering knowledge and sense of the city's history. In this festival's event, they conjure up ancient historical sights both on water and on land.
